The global malaria incidence rate has fallen by an estimated 37 per cent and the mortality rates by 58 per cent. An estimated 6.2 million children and adolescents under the age of 15 years died, mostly from preventable causes. Of these deaths, 5.3 million occurred in the first 5 years, with almost half of these in the first month of life. These injuries, including bone fractures and burns, can reduce a person’s quality of life or can cause fatalities including infections that resulted from the injury . Another health issue that causes death or contributes to other health problems is malnutrition, especially among children. Approximately 7.5 million children under the age of 5 die from malnutrition, usually brought on by not having the money to find or make food.
